Address:

Compost Education Centre 1216 North Park Street

Description

Get started or increase your efforts at backyard seed saving. Workshop will include information about: why to save seed, how to save seed from common vegetables and flowers, and best practices for planting, caring for and harvesting a small plot seed garden. Workshop participants will be invited to become members of the Victoria Seed Library and begin sharing seed.

Instructor Bio: A partnership between LifeCycles and the Greater Victoria Public Library, the Seed Library is a way for hobby and beginner gardeners to share seeds and connect with other local seed savers. By providing access to free seeds and seed saving education, our goal is to strengthen local food systems and increase our region’s biodiversity.
