Instructor Bio: Gordon Mackay
Since his early teens as a student in horticulture, Gordon was always awestruck by honey bees and their incredible organizational skills. After getting his first hive up and running he was truly bitten by the beekeeping bug and the constant learning involved. Gordon soon realized that one hive was not enough.
His interest and passion led him on to be part of the Executive Committee of the Cowichan Beekeepers Society. He recently returned from beekeeping course on the wee Island Of Colonsay which is off the coast of Scotland.
Gordon hopes to share some of his enthusiasm and experience working with the bees. Along with being a beekeeper, Gordon is also an arborist and nurseryman with a particular addiction to dwarf conifers and alpine plants.
