Victoria

Who We Are

Our members live on southern Vancouver Island, including Greater Victoria, the Gulf Islands and up the Malahat to beyond Mill Bay.

The Victoria Master Gardener Association (VMGA) strives to provide our members with the most up-to-date information on reliable and environmentally sustainable horticultural practices for our region. We try to share this knowledge, as well as our experience and love of gardening, with the public through a variety of community service activities.

Our Vision and Mission.

Contact us by email info@msvmga.org.

What We Do

  • Local Garden Events:  We list these on our calendar or you can check our list of garden clubs and farmers’ markets.
  • Clinics:  At garden events look for our table: Ask a Master Gardener. View our current List of Clinics or our Clinic Video
  • Providing Gardening Information:  Browse Victoria Gardening Information for our collection of gardening articles and answers to gardeners’ questions, or ask us a question at  info@msvmga.org.
  • Our biennial Public Conference:  Mixing it up (MIU).   The next MIU is on January 30, 2027.
  • VMGA Speakers Bureau We have a list of Master Gardeners available to come and talk to groups about gardening.
  • Community Projects:  We put our motto of “We Grow Gardeners” into action through, for example, programs for elementary and high school students, volunteering in the RBC Museum Herbarium and with the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific.

Interested in becoming a Master Gardener?  All our members have completed the Master Gardener Basic Training program in Victoria or are Master Gardeners trained elsewhere.  Details here.
