The Victoria Master Gardener Association (VMGA) is a volunteer organization whose members share a passion for gardening and the willingness to share this passion with the community.  Our members live on southern Vancouver Island, including Greater Victoria, the Gulf Islands and up the Malahat to beyond Mill Bay. Contact us by email info@msvmga.org.

Established in 2000, our mission is to provide our members with the most up-to-date information on reliable and environmentally responsible horticultural practices for our region. As volunteers, we share this knowledge, as well as our experience and love of gardening, with the public through a variety of community service activities.

  • Local Garden Events:  We list these on our calendar or you can check our list of garden clubs here,  and farmer's markets here, and other events here
  • Clinics:  At garden events look for our table: Ask a Master Gardener. We are ready for your questions.
  • Providing Gardening Information:  Browse our collection of gardening articles and answers to gardeners questionsor ask us a question at  info@msvmga.org.

  • Our Public Conference:  Mixing It Up.   We run it every two years and the next is on February 1, 2025.
    2025 Conference Information,

  • Speaker's Bureau:  Master Gardeners are available to come and talk to groups about gardening. Check out our list here
  • Community Projects:  We put our motto of "We Grow Gardeners" into action throughout the community in a variety of ways: for example, through programs for elementary and high school students, for seniors, volunteering in the RBC Museum Herbarium and with the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific, and working with other community groups.
